Happy 4th of July!  Today we went to a 4th of July pancake breakfast. After eating a great breakfast we went swimming. Mikey is quite the swimmer (it must be that Witten blood in him). He can jump off the driving board and swim the width of the pool. He loves to just float under water and drive for things (not bad for a 2 year old!). After a morning of swimming Cambi and I did a little shopping at TARGET (I have to get my feel before going back to little old Newman). In the evening we all went to Cambi's parent's for dinner, more swimming and fireworks; only the fireworks didn't happen because a storm blew through town, there were even some areas that received large hail. It was pretty weird.

Mikey is a very bright kid. He knows his colors, shapes, some letter and can even count to 10. We played games, did puzzles and read books together. We were grateful that we didn't see of his poop art work on the wall. Grandpa Dale here is giving advise on life, love and the cool things you can find in the garbage.

Melanie made me a birthday cake. She baked it, made a yummy fresh rassberry  cream cheese filling and decorated it. It was beautiful! She has been taking cake decorating classes. She has only had about four lesson (she certainly has some talent).
It was great! We now have someone in the family that can make wedding cakes.

Hazel is the most sweetest little baby in the world! She loves her big brother, water, crawling around, chewing on paper, making funny noises and grandma. She looks so much like Melanie it amazes me!

It has been a fun week! I hate to leave, but it is time to go. I had a fantastic birthday maybe getting old isn't so bad. Hopefully I can continue these blogs without Cambi's help.....or take pictures with my new camera without Dane telling how to do it. I am really grateful for my children, their spouses and my grandkids....I just wish they didn't live so far away.

thanks for coming down cathy! Besides thinking I was going to have a heart-attack on the way to target (because of your driving), this really was a fun visit. Mikey is looking forward to seeing you in a couple weeks over is Brea.
